<<<I am a small investor who has lost most of my money in the past 3 years trying to
buy and sell stocks.>>>>>>>

I have a very expensive education when it comes to Wall Street

Enough to get me a .....MBA at Wharton...PHD at Harvard...etc...if
I could get in that is ;-)

One important thing to do is not to try to make your money back quickly. That can lead to bad decisions and even more loss.

This thread is not a thread for the masses. It involves shorting and shorting can be dangerous and expensive and the money to withstand a run up on margin can be big. Someone here was facing that with DBCC when it ran up...before the big drop....

then there is that whole emotional trauma that you can feel when your short stock is climbing and you have to pony up the money to hang on or take a BIG loss if you cover.

This thread can be used in a number of ways..including looking at NOT going long stocks Tony is mentioning...even if you can't/don't/won't short them.

I personally don't like to short and usually only do it if options are available ..and most stocks talked about here don't have options.

One newsletter that I subscribe to is Jenna's Market Gems. (search for the Market Gems thread). I have never traded one of her picks from the newsletter...that I can remember. There are several on this thread that do subscribe to her. She does a HUGE amount of research and that alone is a good reason to subscribe because it can give you ideas.

Is the fact that I have never traded one of her stocks indicative of anything to do with the quality of her newsletter????????? - No, I wouldn't make that assumption.

If you are looking for newsletters you should check out her thread. Her newsletter is comparatively cheap and you can decide HOW you would use it.

Also, I recommend reading Lastshadow's thread. He uses a neural net. No hype and he makes posts that are intended to educate on many subjects..and he is a great guy....as are others on his thread

As a historical note...Lastshadow started Market Gems with Jenna but then they dissolved their business partnership. I respect Lastshadow a great deal and there aren't very many people on SI that I would say that about.
