Skeeter Bug,

I think you need to relax bit first before we continue this discussion.

...

OK now.

...

So you concede that demand in the traditional sense is strong and growing, but your main concern is that it is not strong enough to support revenue growth. Well, in a deflationary environment that is precisely the wrong index to watch while making investment decisions as production costs are probably falling as well. It may contradict your years of cost-cutting experiences that companies are not pocketing the difference, but so is life my friend.

BTW I never said that demand hasn't kept up. I said that ASPs haven't. Is ASP a synonym for demand in you book? Or are you just deliberately misquoting me. I won't go back to the ASP issue as that has already been discussed to death. If you think that rapidly falling memory, HD and CPU prices (for example, among other factors) have less to do with ASP drop than weakening demand because your years of cost-cutting experience tells you otherwise, welcome then to the real world.

As for Y2K, if a company has not certified it's production system yet it is not going to get the job done in time, period. Ask any QA engineer that you can find. And as for your human nature test, do not always judge others by yourself. Otherwise, you may sometimes be surprised.

PS: I tried to decipher your other diatribe about Micron but AltaVista crashed on me. Please feel free to have the last word.
