1) If they bought any equities then most likely
they would be in either Coke, Gillette, or
American Express. Certainly the Asian crisis
hit the forward revenue expectations for these
companies (Coke and Gillette most.)

2) It don't matter what we might speculate here
they ain't gonna tell us

3) Nonetheless (and only as a game of speculation)
I would guess they have not bought major stock
positions. (The very term major has taken on
a new meaning over the years .. anything on their
radar screen has to be with 9 trailing 0's these
days.)

Finally my musing relate more to the volatility of
BRK and its low evaluation compared to standard
measures. (I mean, the smart lady at Paine Webber
said BRK.A could be "conservatively" valued at $90,000
and at the time it was selling in the $60,000 something
range.)

So why doesn't it go up .. my secret theory is that
it is because lots of people are selling it. But
who and why would you sell one of the best defensive
stocks with one of the best growth rates when it
was 50% undervalued.

The conjecture I wanted to add was the possibility
that the small volume of outstanding shares Maybe made
it possible to manipulate. Let me drop an order to
sell 10,000 shares on the specialists desk and what
might happen before he could fill. Especially since
most of us have been trained and rewarded and will
continue to take a long term strategy.

Oh well, Buffet is not going to tell us and I for
one like BRK now better than at anytime I have
been following same. Finally, I would like it
even better if there were a major correction -
gotta do something with all that float and reserves.
