<<How significant is the short haul data/voice market?>> Louie, I don't have any $ figure significance, but considering the move to consolidate data/voice/video (ala LU & ASND) delivery over phone lines, with ADSL the "last mile" transport, the carrier's local distribution hub or POP cannot afford to be the bottleneck (like @Home, what a joke). I think concurrent voice/fax/internet/video on one phone line delivered to the home or office is a pretty significant udertaking and market. This really should be Cisco territory, but they haven't moved to claim it yet, they just talk about how they're going to claim it. I think 3Com already has an inkling of how FC may fit. Douglas OOPS - I just read on Yahoo that CSCO is a venture partner with Brocade. Also note that MCI and LU sit on McData's Board of Directors. Think these guys aren't looking over their shoulders?
