I agree with your analysis on the psychology. There are so many scenarios to throw around now that you have to laugh to think that any of this imagining "this or that" is what is supposed to be expected of investors especially in today's market when any/all notable stocks have risen like speculative investments while a company that should have thrived on speculation has behaved like some backwoods New England utility when it wasn't.

Don't read any investment analysis textbooks with this one just attend Psych 101 at any local college and you'll get some grounding on what's needed now or watch reruns of the X-files.

Gee whiz when you invest in a spec stock you expect some effort in pumping the price and then maybe a collapse when the dirty washing gets hung out. Investors take the risk expecting the volatility of a spec investment and maybe a chance of a loss. I mean it's like we're now getting punished for transgressions that never happened!

No matter what happens and how good it is, the credibility aspects of the last few weeks will stick like mud to those putting investors through the present situation no matter how well-meaning (the road to hell is paved with good intentions) and professional it appears.
