Don't worry mark, it is just human nature, you must step back, as you have done, and put thinks in perspective.
It is best that the bickering, fighting and petty bullshit is done through an electronic media as SI, at least there is no physical damage done. And for those who claim that words can be as damaging, well, that is a different problem as if someone would get so offended by such, there is a deeper, (and prior), problem that certainly was not caused by the words in a computer screen.
So when the bs gets too deep, take a breather, turn it off and go take a walk, get re-energized and come back, (if you so desire), when you are ready to enter this strange Universe where the poet meets the schizophrenic, the erudite talks to the dyslexic.
In time this media will grow up and with it the content, and perhaps one day the potential usefulness of it will be in full bloom and become actually rewarding.
Think of it, in some modest way, as if we were the pioneers of this brave new world.
At least that's how I do it... the old story of the glass of water, half empty or half full, it is up to you.
The important thing is that communication is established, and so long we are talking, we may learn something. And don't forget that there is always the "relief" button, (hit "Next").

It is a good thing I am not competent at anything in particular... and if I become competent at something, well, I don't believe in hell anyway (nor in heaven), so I guess the above does not apply to me <g>. |
