David and dreydoc,

My apologies for getting the two of you confused when I mentioned the rationale expressed in The Gorilla Game for not yet owning CTXS.

Chaz,

Indeed, it does seem like old times around here. What a shame it is that the CTXS and Networking folders on AOL have suffered an untimely death.

Thread,

I hope the execs at Citrix read Stuart Alsop's column in Fortune. Alsop's latest futuristic fable is a formula that arrives at the perfect personal digital appliance (PDA). (Was it Lucius who was writing about this in the context of Citrix's future a week or so ago?)

Alsop's perfect PDA will have the value of its analog predecessor, the value of digital technology, the value made possible by networks, and all of that without the complexity of computers. (He'd like his perfect appliance to be as easy to use as his toaster.) As for cost, he'd like the price to be less than $500, the lower the better of course.

You might be able to find the article online. If not, it's worth a trip to the local newsstand.

If the folks at Citrix identify the upcoming PDAs that have Alsop's characteristics, they'll likely identify the software apps that will be used. Citrix's software should be at the heart of the networked functions of Alsop's appliance.
