Skeeter, you said apratim, after reading the rest your note, you just don't get it. the deflationary environment is a direct result of too much supply relative to demand. you then say that in a deflationary environment demand isn't important. goodness gracious, demand relative to supply caused the deflationary environment in the first place!!!

I think that you and folks like Fleckenstein are the ones that don't get it. Technology has always existed in a disinflationary environment. I have more computing power on my desk than I had in 1968 when I used an IBM 360 mainframe for statistical analysis. I have no idea how much an IBM 360 sold for back then, but I am sure that it was significantly more than the $2k a good quality machine costs now. I suggest you read the introductory chapters in Michael Murphy's book on high-tech stocks where he discusses the economic history and environment of technology.
