gene -Re"sentiment will one day turn in favor of Dell"
Dell has a market cap of $128 billion.
Compaq has a market cap of $74 billion.

Don't you think that sentiment is already fairly strong for Dell. By any measure a market cap of $128 billion is very impressive.

I own both Dell and Compaq. Both are great companies. Dell has obviously been a much better stock to own over the last few years.

The most important question to ask is what company is the better investment today for making future profits. The only problem that I see with Dell is that with a such high stock valuation versus earnings and revenue, they can not afford to make any mistakes or the stockholders will be punished severely.

Fortunately, Dell has done a wonderful job of avoiding any serious mistakes in the last few years. I hope they keep it up.
