Ian - eMerge Alliance and BCE Emergis are NOT competitors:

Message 7649228

"Is there any fundamental reason for VNE to be trading at more than a few ¢?"

Yes, for example, this - from 3 Feb News:

"The eMerge solution removes the difficulty and expense from developing and marketing transactional Web sites, and simplifies banking arrangements."
...
"Research amongst retailers showed that more work needed to be done to simplify the process of establishing an online retail presence," explains Bruce Poore, Vice President of Payment Services, Citibank Canada. "Citibank's global expertise in credit card transaction processing has proved invaluable to the eMerge Alliance's offering, enabling web-based purchases to be processed online in any of 29 different currencies."

Clients are already onboard, the infrastructure is in place and is working, more News + financing News to follow in the coming weeks.

Citibank wants to move this initiative forward aggressively - they are the key to its success.

I expect further volatility as VNE moves forward as with any new initiative of this type. Buying opportunities will present themselves - as they are now.

Give it a few months and we'll be able to judge more fully the success of the partnership. Very hard to not see it doing very very well.

I'm doing further DD and I'll post anything new this week.

David.
