Distance limitations I've always wondered about that. What is it about ATM or SONET that makes them go farther, if not lower transmission rate? Aren't they all bumping up against the same physical limits when it comes down to the fiber? Don't ATM & SONET trunks have signal reconditioners every x miles (and what is x)? If so, is there any reason why FC couldn't be gotten to work over the same kind of hardware? Apologies for the rampant ignorance on display here... - nic
