American BioMed signs 3-year supply agreement with Joint Purchasing Corp. (JPC) to supply 380 hospitals

THE WOODLANDS, Texas--(BW HealthWire)--Feb. 5, 1997--American
BioMed Inc. (NASDAQ OTC BB:ABMI) Wednesday announced that it has
signed a 3-year distribution agreement with Joint Purchasing Corp.
JPC is a hospital buying group which represents 380 hospitals
located in the tri-state New York area. Product launch to all member
hospitals is expected to begin within 30 days and to be completed
over six months. The agreement includes American BioMed's 100%
silicone balloon catheter line and its thermodilution catheters.
Arthur S. Przybyl, VP Sales and Marketing, stated: "We are
pleased that JPC has realized the importance of 100% silicone
products and has recognized our product line's unique features and
benefits. Specifically, there is no risk of adverse latex reaction
when using American BioMed's silicone catheters in surgical
procedures." The company anticipates an increase in its revenues for
the first year of the agreement and substantial growth in subsequent
years.
