I viewed some of the programming available on RNET this weekend. While much of it is in talk show format and mostly features talking heads, the overall production values were pretty good, better than I had expected. There was, in fact, some riveting moments of testimonial by people in recovery. There were also many one-on-one interviews that took place outside of the studio. The only ads were for the Rogers Memorial Hospital and the Herrington Recovery Center. There were no addresses given, only an 877 number, though I suspect they are in So. Cal, as is RNET itself (Santa Monica, in LA). There was also an ad for the Pathways Store located in Santa Barbara which sells books and audio and video tapes about topics relating to addiction recovery. Pathways is owned by RNET and inventory can be found on its website, linked through the RNET website ( recoverynetwork.com ). I actually learned a great deal looking into this and see it as a service with much need and demand throughout the nation.
