Maybe I do not understand Shorting like I thought, but,.... If short interest is up so dramatically recently, doesn't that mean, in theory, the stock price would have been pressured downward during that selling? Since obviously it hasn't, I would think it would take some really bad news for all those "shorters" to realize gains, and any positive movements would be exaggerated due to short coverings, no? It just seems to me barring bad news (i.e. lower sales or NASDAQ denial) the risk/reward ratio is definitely heavy toward the long side. This is a risky stock in the base case without taking a risk on a risk on the short side. IMO, of course.
