tm, I don't think the connections suggested in this post are necessarily hard and fast. Remember that the Silkworm is clearly interop with HP's Tachyon chip and this is most visible with the Sequent deal. From Brocade's www site: brocadecomm.com I don't think it is possible to say how much FCAL protocol is hardware vs. software determined. George D.
