Here are Robert Pointer's impressions of the meeting:
More on the annual meeting by: RobertPointer 8965 of 8965 Just another post, regarding the annual meeting, To tell the truth, this is probably more of what you all have heard before. I left Henderson with positive feelings, as did most. Listening to Lev speak was quite reassuring once I forgave his fear of being sued again. Shareholders need to feel progress is being made, that their investment is in good hands. This is difficult to achieve when the leader withholds. I did get the impression, though, that Lev is dying to release great news.
The video of NI was impressive. I work in an industry were hundreds of thousands of parts all need to work in concert. The video, which showed just that, was quite assuring. Lev did say that the battery business was capital, and technologically intense. This is frustrating in the quest to bring product to market, but it also serves as a barrier to entry.
Seems to me the object is to get to market a high quality battery that is well accepted by major users. First to market may not be the key. It appears to me this is just what Valence is doing. Lev's description of what has happened to ULBI was very enlightening. A quick foray into the market before they had a consistently reliable battery and…..Disaster. Stock plummets, CEO resigns, company is sued. Says Lev "they will be in court for five years"
My gut feeling is that something will happen in the form of a PO well before July of this year.
regards,
