For one a lie is not perjury. Secondly one must prove his intent to lie. This can't be proven. Two different stories does not mean one is lying. Two people can have different recollections just as two people can have different perspectives. The entire case is built upon innuendo and the distorted logic by over zealous Republicans that are willing to do anything to destroy the president, even resorting to a Kangaroo Court Impeachment. He lied to the American People. That isn't a crime nor is it an impeachable offense. It can only be assumed he lied before the grand jury by inference and guess work. It must be proved with at least the "preponderance of evidence" and it has to be "beyond reasonable doubt" for a criminal conviction. The house managers haven't come close to proving their case. The fact that they keep changing the rules as they go shows America that it is a Kangaroo Court and says volumes about how evil the Republicans have become. Stop and think a minute. The Democrats had more than enough evidence to impeach Ronald Reagan for Iran Contra. They didn't do it. Ask yourself why. I say they knew that it was in the best interest of the country not to pursue the issue. It is obvious that the Republicans just don't care for the country nor the American people. They place their theocratic views above all else. What the case really is about is sex. IT IS NOT ABOUT LYING UNDER OATH as the Republican spin would have you believe. It is all about sex and getting Clinton at any cost. It was all a set up to begin with. What happened to Whitewater? What happened to all the supposed real crimes. The Republicans couldn't get him so they resorted to a sex scandal. I saw "Impeach Clinton" bumper stickers in 1992. The Zealots have control of the Republican Party and they had to resort to a Scam Impeachment to get him. That is the fact. America now knows just how far the Republicans will go to replace our Democracy with a Theocracy. Read it and weep in 2000 and if a Republican ever runs for president he better be able to walk on water.
