All of the items you mentioned play into the scenario, and that, along with the downtrend in the oil sector that started 3 weeks ago, help create the negative technical indicators that promoted more selling. You are right--it doesn't take many sellers (or negative rumors) to have a major affect on a thinly traded stock. Anybody holding the stock, after seeing it continuously dropping, has to have loosened their grip on it, and at least considered selling. Fundamentally CWEI is sound, and given time, the fundamentals should prevail. The market reacts strongly to negative implications and I think, in fact, searches for weaknesses to capitalize on them. I believe the market has a more difficult time reversing that negative impression when it proves to be false, such as in the case of the earnings mistake. Hopefully we have seen the worst of it and can now get back on track.
