This could be good news; notice the mention of a "case study" and "handling of food safety scares", rather than something like "study of food dangers". This suggests the committee isn't concerned about safety (which is scientifically unfounded), but rather the scares themselves. To wit, how does a government deal with false, media-driven nonsense and still preserve free speech?

When bureaucracies investigate scientific matters, they ultimately have to rely on science. And when science is applied, unfounded beliefs are disproven.
