The Toy Convention in NYC. . .is NOT for consumers. It is where manufacturers sell their toys to retailers. Play Co will probably be attending primarily as buyers for their 25 retail stores and their new e-commerce website. . . this is where they will try to pick what people will want to buy via the internet.

However, Play Co is also about selling collectibles [probably to smaller retail stores]. I found a PLACO that specialized in collectible toys and dolls, etc listed on the floor at the Javitz. I don't know if it is same as PlayCo, but it sure looks similar.

Either way, my interest is that come Wednesday when the main show opens, we will begin to see some major coverage on TV and other media in toys in general. Not necessarily ANY coverage for Play Co...unless they make an "official" announcement about their 2 e-commerce web-sites coming.

And there it is. . .NYC Toy Fair mention on CNBC just now.
