To Lucius: Since you have been helpful to me in citing references where I could do some useful homework, please permit me to mention that MSFT and Qualcomm have a new joint venture called Wirelessknowledge which has a SI thread and a homepage. You might wish to check them out as one way (an alliance with BT being another) MSFT is attempting at least to participate in wireless. It's success is far from certain IMO since, I for one, think Windows CE is a weak link in the equation. Java sees stronger IMO as does the Symbian approach. But time will tell. In any event, MSFT is increasingly active in the emerging wireless - internet nexus. And the relationship of the MSFT lion to the CTRS lamb in all this is foggy indeed but is certainly worth further homework. Chaz
