Andrew, so many questions so few answers.

Right now it seems that only 6 to 7 new fabs have been announced in the last year (I believe not counting the recent INTC announcement of their 300 initiative).

The real tough question is what is the expected growth in Si "real estate" expected. I have not seen any reliable numbers on this recently. Some six months ago, someone (Carl R. I believe) posted charts of the expected real estate requirements, and then it was still on a growth curve. At least there have not been any announcements of new wafer capacity, so eventually, the demand will catch up with the current oversupply.

The big driver of profits, IMHO will be the 300 program, but that has been delayed for quite sometime. The drive to smaller features first, rather then larger wafers, actually hurts WFR since more chips per sq inch can be made.
