It will be a while before copper is obsolete.... And you still need FO to link your wireless network antennae... The airwaves are so jammed right now, the 'realistic' people in the wireless industry admit they don't have a clue how to handle the anticipated capacity. (getting thru the regulatory hurdles + and obtaining licenses are just some of the challenges) Until MCI, Quest and other carriers increase their network capacity by at least a factor of ten to handle video on demand over the net- FO should be as decent a play as any. The day we get unlimited wireless airtime packages will be a milestone, but until we see cheaper flat rate long distance rates over the existing land networks, that milestone is still far off. Just my 2 cents
