Saturn V - AMD's K7 is huge - HUGE - 184 sq. mm on the 0.25 micron process.

We already know that 450 MHz speeds on that process are the squeaky upper limit - so far no production at that level.

Thus, the K7 will appear at a speed that is barely competitive with today's Pentium III - available right now - and it won't have KNI and it won't have ANY INFRASTRUCTURE to sell into.

AMD will have to push chip sets, motherboards, conversions etc into the OEM marketplace - at a time when all the OEMs need to do is plug the new Pentium III into existing motherboard designs !
