I was tearing down a house that 5 years ago belonged
to a coin collector.
I found a few coins that are between the size of a
quarter and a half dollar. On one side they have the symbol
of the eagle, just like the one on the right side on the back
of a one dollar bill, and around the outer edge in 1/8 inch
letters it says, UNITED STATES PROOF SET.
On the flip side, it has a breast plate similar to the one on
the eagle with a scales inside it at the top and 13 stars
in a inverted "V" shape in the middle, then there is a
key at the bottom. Around the edge it says, THE DEPARTMENT
OF THE TREASURY, date on the bottom is 1789.
Anyone know anything about these coins?

TIA!
