Report on Exponential.

from the San Francisco Examiner

"This is not going to do anything for the people who buy Performas," said (Peter) Dyson,
who covers the publishing market (for Seybold Reports.)

Exponential processors will probably start at $1,000 and end up in Macs that cost $5,000
or more, while consumer chips and machines sell for a third as much.

"But assuming Exponential can get the chip into full production, and that it works as
advertised, people who use the Mac to do color publishing and 3D animation
will find they can run all their current software at two times the speed," Dyson said.

"These are people who live for speed," he said. "That makes the Mac buying decision easy."
