I have been watching Woody's various ventures over the past 3 years. EDIG is definitely not for the faint of heart... It is my belief that Internet Appliances are going to become reality very soon--especially now that the major infrastructure providers (whether it be xdsl, cable, wireless, etc) are committing to affordable wide band solutions for the average John Doe. I currently like EDIG because they are partnering/talking with companies that make things happen.
