Papaya, SD today is so different from the open-minded bunch when we were there I find it totally pointless to put forth a counterpoint on that thread. Haven't posted there since this thread began. Too much in-breeding I'm afraid. When no one dares to vote support for a minority idea, you know that's the wrong place to be.

Noesis may have missed the actual numbers but the future trend he pointed out has been dead on. For some reasons a lot of people seem to hope that Asia economy will turn around like the US stock market after it tanked in Aug. That is not going to happen. There are still plenty of over-capacity in almost all areas except in the semi/electronic sectors in Asia. You being at the front line I'm sure you know it first hand.

I would say the first true sign of an oil recovery and the recovery of the drillers will be when one of the majors announces Exploration budget increase. That is the time to load up and hold. Other than that, we are going to see pockets of speculations on and off while the whole sector continues to struggle, if not sliding deeper into the hole ever so slowly.
