As a business they are hardly keeping up with anybody. As an investment they are one of the worst performers imaginable over the entire life of the company. If your interests are academic and your only concerns are benchmarks and MegeHertz then a case can be made to say that AMD is clearly behind but not too far behind. I guess it's all in how you define "keeping up". EP
