One thing to keep in mind - companies that are licensed to make the handsets can only use the ASIC chipsets internally.

Actually, I seem to recall in reading some SEC filing that both Motorola and Lucent can resell their own chips, but who would want them??

DSP is selling only to Kyocera, which owns a chunk of DSP. Otherwise, QCOM clean sweeps Japan.
