<< So Delbert,

Under your rules and conditions, as long as the body of the baby is inside the mother, she can give the go-ahead for a "doctor" to stab the cranium with a scissors and suck out the brain? What if the baby is only half-way out? What if its just a big toe left? It's not a person yet? >>

They are not my rules and conditions. Those rules were decided by the courts, and I choose to go by court rulings. The alternative is anarchy.

I imagine that no doctor "wants" to do the above procedure. It is easy for those sitting on the sidelines to be critical. The procedures described above that I have heard of were done on fetuses that had either no brain, or were severely deformed. We probably have the technology now to keep them alive on respirators indefinitely. Is that a better alternative? Are you willing to pay for around the clock care for those allowed to live, for the rest of their lives? Are you willing to be one of those that gives the care? Would you be willing to sacrifice the woman to let the fetus be born, in some cases? She just might leave some orphans.

You haven't answered if you thought that it would be preferable to not anesthetize a late term fetus that was about to be aborted.

Del
