*Peak demand and GSTRF vs IRIDF* Mondale of Iridium was reported thus:
--------------------------------------------------------------
"Capacity is such an arguable issue - wireless service, including satellites, is in peak demand and that demand is never spread out,"
he said. The company plans to spend the next year collecting actual data capacity based on real usage, he said.

But Mondale added: "I don't think frankly you can make a decent comparison among systems until each of us has that operating
experience. Comparisons at this point really are misleading."
-----------------------------------------------------------------

Peak demand can be spread out. I wonder if anyone can figure out how. With proper demand spreading, profits and customer satisfaction are both increased. They'd be better to spend the next year collecting subscribers instead of actual data capacity based on real usage.

He might think, frankly or unfrankly, that you can't make a decent comparison between systems until each has that operating experience and of course that is to some extent true. But as investors, we don't have the luxury of waiting to see what people prefer. We have to predict the future based on limited information and a judgement on how the various system designs will perform and how popular they will be.

We have to make predictions on what system designs will be selected by the managers of Globalstar. For example, will they go for the old-time marketing approach or the Web auction action? Looks as though Bernie is leaning towards fast rollout of handsets and service. Every minute unused is a minute lost forever!

I pick Globalstar! Rah! Rah! Rah! Globalstar...
