<<<<FastComm Wins Frame Relay Supply Contract for The Commonwealth of Virginia
STERLING, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 8, 1999--FastComm, (OTC BB:FSCX) a Virginia Corporation, announced today the award of a Master Contract with the Commonwealth of Virginia's Department of Information Technology for its family of routers and frame relay access devices.
The contract award is for a one year period, with options for five additional one year renewal periods.
Under the terms of the Master Contract, the Virginia Department of Information Technology (DIT) may order any number of any model of FastComm's extensive family of routers and frame relay access devices. Any state agency requiring Legacy and/or LAN connectivity and having access to the Commonwealth's frame relay network can order the FastComm hardware through DIT. The first agency to benefit from this agreement will be the State Board of Elections.
The EtherFRAD(tm) family of routers supports frame relay, leased line and X.25 access for Legacy + LAN(tm) traffic for aggregating and routing SNA, IP/IPX traffic, and other Legacy protocols over WAN services. The unique flexibility of the EtherFRAD(tm) family, makes it an ideal choice for maximizing bandwidth and controlling cost in large multi-protocol frame relay networks.
The FastComm family of Frame Relay remote access products offer bandwidth support from 9.6Kbps to 1.54Mbps for full T1 access.
