I get more and more the impression, that we, readers of these message-boards, gradually get some kind of deformation. We are confronted in these boards with so much manipulation, as:
a)false information,
b)people intruding a board in order to guide you to the company, where they have an interest in (without taken any responsibility if they transfer you from a promising to a less promising one, not even an ethical responsibility),
C......and so on
that we gradually accept manipulation as the normal way and expect it everywhere. The general attitude versus the buyers of these convertible preferred seems therefore also based on the pre-assumption that they will manipulate this issue.
But we don't know. We have the names. Is there anyone who has such an experience with them??
I'm rather well known with the world of institutional investors. I was never confronted with manipulation and practical all the people I know in that world have a high-standing ethical attitude.Of course there can be exceptions, but on this board here we tend to see manipulating as the normal way of managing an institutional portfolio. Be aware of the fact, that manipulation is more time-consuming then good management of a portfolio takes.
It is also certain, that such a way of manipulative acting would build a reputation, that prevents repetition. Certainly within this world of fast communication.
Perhaps is the US Institutional world somewhat different from the European one, but not in my experience.
But time will learn.
