The E@Commerce site will facilitate doing business with both the
consumer and business to business. Businesses are getting much more
comfortable purchasing over the Internet in particular now that there
is security and intrusion software so that a business's asset
protection concerns are met. I think that this is one of the reasons
DELL has done so well. The amount of commercial business they do
today versus consumer is growing quite well. PCCG's PC and server
model is similar to what DELL does in the sense it is an assembly
operation. DELL uses suppliers like Seagate and others to have
warehouses in close proximity to DELL's manufacturing or assembly
facilities and as DELL receives orders they call for the components
and sub-assemblies from their suppliers warehouses, take title for
a few hours, assemble the PC, ship and transfer title to the
purchaser. Limited to no design, engineering, research, etc.
responsibilities. Leave that to Intel and the other suppliers. Just
take orders and assemble them. PCCG already has the inventory since
they have to supply 250 resellers and integrators plus the deal with
Ingram Micro opens up even more supply channels. So the marketing of
components, parts, sub-assemblies and completed PCs on-line on the
Internet to consumers and businesses is just a natural progression
which should be very profitable since as I mentioned in the earlier
post from a financial modeling perspective this business is
incremental with little added infrastructure or SG&A.
