Globe says AIT stock shows signs of life 1999-02-08 close $1.65 Tuesday Feb 9 1999 The Globe and Mail reports in its Tuesday, Feb. 9, 1999 edition that AIT Advanced Information Technologies stock showed some signs of life yesterday, advancing 30 cents to $1.65 on the Toronto Stock Exchange. The Globe's Market Movers column reports that the company says it isn't sure why. AIT says there was no news due before it releases first quarter results next Monday. AIT shares have dropped from $2.40 a year ago but they're up smartly from 20 cents at the end of September. AIT, which sells systems for machine-reading documents such as passports to customers around the world, lost 16.9-million in the year ended Sept. 30 after booking writedowns. Revenue slipped 21 per cent to $11.3-million, reports the Globe.
