Hi Joe...Here is some good stuff about Novell:

The Best of 1996 Server Software Network Operating System
INTRANETWARE
NOVELL INC.
A lot happened in the network OS (NOS) market last year, with the release of Windows NT 4.0, OS/2 Warp Server 4, Novell IntranetWare, and numerous versions of Linux and other Unix variants. We strongly considered awarding Product of the Year in this category to Windows NT Server 4.0, but the fact is, on the server side there isn't much to differentiate it from NT 3.51. There's a better interface and more bundled applications, but they won't lead to a dramatic impact on the industry. The same was true of OS/2 Warp Server 4. It seems that companies are in a race to run up the version numbers regardless of the actual changes to the NOS. Novell, on the other hand, made dramatic changes to its flagship product. NetWare has been the best-selling, most-used NOS for a long time now. And just when it seemed that the emergence of IP as the world standard for internetworking might sink the folks in Provo, Utah, the release of IntranetWare, with IP included in the box, proved that NetWare is not synonymous with "IPX only." Also, a host of standard Internet technologies, including DNS and a Web server, transform staid NetWare into a viable Internet and intranet NOS.

From the article: Summary: NetWare/ NDS-centric environments with Windows NT clients should consider bagging Windows NT's Client Service for NetWare in favor of the upcoming Novell Workstation Manager for Windows NT to gain NT-invoked NDS management and user-account template abilities. Note that this offering is still a beta product, however.
