Cisco - deeper into the war? "Fortune Magazine thinks the recent acquisition of Ascend by Lucent [NYSE - LU] may aggravate the war it has with Cisco Systems [NYSE - CSCO]. The Ascend acquisition should help Lucent successfully move into the burgeoning datacom sector. This competition could just bug Cisco, who is the largest manufacturer of datacom equipment."
