This post appears to confirm one of the main issues I've had with Fred's earnings projections.

messages.yahoo.com@m2.yahoo.com

Fred estimated many times that VLNC can earn a profit running less than one shift of the laptop line by saying it can produce anywhere between 5-10 batteries per minute. Therefore, the more than 1,800 batteries that could be produced on one shift would reach Lev's cash breakeven point at $2.50 per watt hour.

The post indicates the capacity of the laptop line is 4 cells per minute and it takes 3 cells to make a battery. Therefore, it would take 5,400 cells per day to reach the cash breakeven point, or a full 3 shifts worth of production.

In other words, as I suggested before, Fred's eps calculations could be as much as 3X too high.
