Both you and Harvey beat me to posting the Anthony Lewis article.

Some comments:
1. Your deliverance article is appreciated. Yes the lack of a clear beacon on Hyde S and L involvment astounds me.

2. Thinking of Hyde's Roman oratory on the events of the day, S&L scandals both unearthed and buried, it seemes we are in some national scale game of tit for tat.

Given that, I wonder how things are setting up here for the next election. I see Elizabeth Dole is presenting a 'sunny Reaganism' in New Hampshire, Gary Bauer is in, it's Gore's nomination to lose. I am wondering how both parties, the republicans with the moderates and conservative right, and the democrats with the centrism of Gore and it's left will shape the next set of issues. These will be: socsec, deregulation (but where), education (more a states issue), disposition of the surplus, others?

3. Quote of the week from MSL:

Her (Monica Lewsinky's) answer, devastating in its obviousness, was:

"First of all, I thought it was nobody's business. Second of all, I didn't want anything to do with Paula Jones or her case."
