Sonny, Re: "I guess a cpl or 4 of those gurus really did scare some investors. One of these days nobody will listen to those guys. I heard yesterday that those analysts could be obsolete one day, since you can get better info on the net."
'Twas I that said that!

Fred, >>>Kurlak aimed his comments mainly at AMD, and then lowered earnings, but not his recommendation, on Intel.<<<
Yeah, I guess you're right. But he did manage to be the catalyst that started the whole tech market down. BTW, he will be wrong again about Intel on that new recommendation for this quarter. What'd he do, lower estimates from $1.05 to $1.01? Piece of cake for Intel to exceed the $1.05, because they continue to be sold out and said just this week that 1Q was very strong.
AMAT stockholders, myself included, should feel relieved to not have an ax like Kurlak. Someday, though, sooner than we'd all estimate, these guys will be as obsolete as buggy whips, as investors will be doing all their research for themselves on the internet.

Sometimes, new paradigms (an annoying word of the 90's) start taking place without a lot of fanfare. Can you imagine if most investors truly did start to trust themselves and what they can find on the internet? No more Kurlak, Kumar, Fleckenstein, Metz, ...Actually I'd miss Abby J-C, Joseph Battapaglia and (don't tell Frank), Ralph Acompora, aka Ralph Flip Flop. But hell I trust my opinion, and that of a few trusted SI folks, more than the gurus word. Course, they still can move markets, but maybe not much longer.
Glad to hear that Bryant did well. I guess Intel the stock has some clouds still hanging over them, a term Sonki uses. The so called price war (Mr. Kim vs. Michael Jordan, huh!). I was going to say the CPU ID thing, but that seems to have faded? Intel the company, OTOH continues very strong. Time to start psyching how 1Q is doing as we're almost halfway through it. Lessee, how to do that? Maybe Paul can find out if we're still sold out. See, SI guy, no Kurlak!
Another rainy day in paradise.
