<<Don't you think you should wait to see the quarterly before you declare victory? >>

Are you kidding, this is a great time to celebrate. Fibr has never looked better. Before GigaMux sales were always another quarter or two away. Now they are here, and this is just the beginning; Break out the champagne, I am celebrating!

Osicom GigaMux Backlog Increases to $5.3 Million With Receipt of $2.4 Million GigaMux Order From U.S.-Based CLEC

SANTA MONICA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 8, 1999--Osicom Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq NM:FIBR - news), a market leader in Metro DWDM (Dense Wave Division Multiplexing), today announced that it has received a $2.4 million order for its GigaMux(TM) Metro DWDM solution from a US-based Competitive Local Exchange Carrier (CLEC). This order, which increases the Company's backlog for the GigaMux product line to a record $5.3 million, is expected to begin shipping in the fiscal first quarter ending April 30, 1999, following customer approval. Further terms were not disclosed. The Company also announced that following a successful demonstration, delivery of the previously announced GigaMux order from Tangshan Cable Television Network (TCTN) in China is being accelerated, with shipment expected to occur in this fiscal year's first quarter, instead of in the second quarter as originally announced. According to Osicom CEO, Par Chadha, shipments of GigaMux during the first quarter of this fiscal year are now anticipated to be at least $4.1 million, a substantial increase over previous quarterly shipments of GigaMux.

Osicom President, Dr. Xin Cheng said ''We are very pleased that the growing level of interest in GigaMux over the last year is beginning to result in significant orders and shipments. We are encouraged to be entering our new fiscal year with eight GigaMux customers, up from the two we had at this time last year. We believe this clearly demonstrates the market's increasing acceptance of GigaMux as the product of choice to meet the ever-expanding demands for greater bandwidth in fiber optic networks. Not only are we adding new customers on a more frequent basis, but we are seeing consistent reordering from our previously established customer base.''

Chadha commented, ''The fourth quarter of fiscal year 1999 marked an important turning point for Osicom. A carefully orchestrated ramp-up of production capacity and resources has been underway in the Company's San Diego facility for several months. In addition, we are expanding our sales, marketing and support organization in Europe in further preparation for what we believe is the beginning of an increase in deployments.''
