>i hope etrade dies
Bill on the Hill,
The most disheartening and ominous thing, IMO, about the array of current E*trade difficulties is that E*trade has not sent one single word to me as a customer in the way of an explanation of what is going on. Not one single word in the way of an apology. Not one single word in the way of an offer to make things right. Not one single word to customers such as myself, and many others, who have suffered monetary losses from E*trade's own mistakes. That is simply unacceptable and inexcusable behavior.
In addition, it shows a corporate leadership vacuum. It shows a company in disarray. Is shows a company without a sense of direction. It shows a company devoid of common business sense. It shows a company out of touch with its most valuable asset...its very own customers. And more importantly, it shows a company with an absence of even the most basic and fundamental rudiments of corporate moral character.
So in response to your statement that you hope "etrade dies", I say this...
Regardless of what you may or may not hope, my prediction is that E*trade is currently in the process of self-immolation and will likely die in a massive ball of fire if they don't get a grip on their situation and make things right with their customer base NOW. Not later. NOW. For this company, there is no time to waste. They are, IMO, teetering on the edge of a total PR, if not business, disaster as we speak.
