Hi Greg, Here's the "famous" recipe:
Montezuma's Go Fast SALSA OFFICIAL RACING SALSA (AND CHROME CLEANER!) OF LEAPING CATS JAGUAR RACING TEAM execpc.com
2 - 32 oz. Cans of Crushed Tomatoes (Contadina, Progresso, etc.) 1 - 16 oz. Jar of Vlassic Hot Pepper Rings (dice to small size) 1 - large (fist size or larger) Sweet Onion (dice to small size) 1 - 16 oz. Can of small Ripe Olives ( slice into rings) 1 - 16 oz. Jar of Hot Pickled Okra (Talk 'O Texas brand, slice into rings) 1 - 16 oz. Can of Baby Corn on the Cob (slice into chunks) 1 - 16 oz. Can of Garbanzo Beans (or substitute black eye peas) 1 - Regular size bottle of Heinz Chilli Sauce 1/2 - teaspoon of Cumin 1/2 - teaspoon of white pepper
Dice up one pickled Jalapena and add part of it to the above mixture and taste test the results. Usually one whole Jalapena is about right, but be cautious, they vary in potency!!!
Optional - a 1/2 teaspoon of minced garlic adds a very nice touch. NOTE: you can substitute fresh ingredients for any listed when in season. This recipe makes about one gallon - enough for the whole pit crew and friends!
That's the basics. It varies with each making, but this will get it done. If you want a bit more "afterglow", add an extra 1/2 tsp of white pepper. I prefer white pepper as it's more digestible than black. If you want more UP FRONT fire power, add more Jalapena.
It's best to wear an open faced helmet after consuming large quantities of this "SCOOPING SALSA" (not the dipping kind). After a large helping of it, my lap times come way down. It's because I have to hurry back to the Port-O-Lette!! Please enjoy it and may your chrome always shine!!
Best regards, Tom |
