I was wondering how the PAC security would be implemented in the devices. Would the music that is uploaded to the device have to have some sort of security ID that enabled the device to play the music or would the protection scheme merely prevent the audio from being copied? Or both?

If the security scheme includes the former, would the device then exclude music that does not contain some security ID? If this is so, wouldn't it remove the portability factor of music that one currently owns on CD or cassette?

If this is so, then I think this is a serious flaw. Because I do not know I will save my breath (fingers?) until someone responds.

Thanks,

Chris
