Well, the day of reckoning is actually more or less quarterly if I simply can't avoid it...for awhile, during particularly noisome months I took to pilfering the statements if I checked the mail first, and then would allow them to mysteriously reappear on the desk somewhere once the portfolio value recovered, to where I could say, oh, don't worry, it's much higher than that now. Of course, there was one stretch when we apparently did not get a single statement for about eight months... I tried to do the eyebrow thingie as a kid, I remember one time being at the dinner table trying to put on that ever so skeptical expression every time anybody said anything, and my parents finally asked me why I seemed to have this nervous twitch tonight.
