Ah yes, Ch. 6 news. Watched it sometimes when I lived in East Lansing. Quite a change to go from that to ChiTown news, where the lead story always involves a body count. Ya know, they could save a lot of time by just starting with "Six people were murdered today, two of them horribly. Now onto something worth reporting..."

Of course, this is the town that tried to put Jerry Springer up as a news commentator, but that's another story.

Anyway, back on topic.

Listeria seems to be gaining wider attention in the media. I can't remember if it was listeria, but Land-O-Lakes just had a huge recall, which sucks because I'm out of butter. No, I didn't write down the affected lot numbers, so I just have to go with some other brand for a while. I wonder if this is typical. When IBP or some other wholesaler has a recall, it doesn't have as big of an impact because most people don't by meat stamped with "IBP" on the label. Land-O-Lakes? Now we're talking about the need for some serious crisis management.

So when are these yahoos going to wake up and start voluntary testing?

I'll get off my soap box now...

Cheers,

Rich
