The only problem I see with cable modem is theeese..

Sure, most people won't have them at first, you
will get blazing speed. But as more people on
your "node" get the cable modem, you have to share
the bandwidth.. eeek!

Hmmm.. Let say 100 people on your node are surfing
the net and/or downloading SMUT all day, the best speed is..

10 megabits/100 = 100kbits, twice as fast as your 50k connection..
