Ed, I think Judge Jackson does not like MSFT(surprised?). Remember the appeals of the Windows95 rulings. These judges are on power trips. All he is looking for is a way to rule against MSFT--just needs a borderline case. However, he does not want his decision to be overturned by appeals whether it is on his finding or the remedies he suggests.

I am looking for a ruling against MSFT but one they(and jackson himself) will be able to live with---and MSFT appeals anyways. If he starts with Windows pricing or browser biz, he is asking for trouble. I still think he wants to rule against but not so much as to have it overturned by appeals.
Maybe those ISP agreements are a good place to start.

I cannot imagine him letting MSFT off the hook totally. Either in his ruling against or in remedies, he will back off! I still see the stock rising after the decision and after the remedy phase;not to mention when MSFT appeals any decisions.

I agree that there is lot of media hype and the video tape got blown out of proportion. The government still has to prove MSFT is a monopoly where even the possibility of competition does not exist. We all know about Apple and Linux.
