CNBC announced this morning that Compaq in Houston, TX (ever heard of that place? <g>) is looking for a new director of marketing (lord knows they need that!). I figure with all the good will we've generated on this thread towards cpq over the years, we could give you a good letter of recommendation. <g> The successful candidate will have to be able to juggle 26 disjointed and self-defeating self-competing marketing plans at once. Have unlimited hubris. Realize that there is no overall strategic plan, only top line revenue goals. Be able to talk out of 43 sides of sides of one's mouth at the same time. Some late quarter warehouse work may be required to load trucks to stuff the channel. A degree in creative accounting is a plus... <g>
